ɛərətʃaɪnə/ti-ʃərts

Did you know that as well as silent letters in certain words, taking gnome for example, that a lot of words also have invisible letters?

History has been cruel to letters and as human parlance has evolved along with times and technologies, letters have slowly started to disappear from most words.

A prime example of this is the Gaelicised nomenclature for Ireland, which has now been abbreviated to Éire in modern times, but did you know the entire and correct spelling (and pronunciation) is Éiretschineteferts (IPA: ɛərətʃaɪnə/ti-ʃərts) ?

Word-buffs in The Tralee Institute of Missing Letter Restoration have been working tirelessly to restore invisible letters to words that have been so callously forgotten by our modern times.

Once every single letter has been accounted for, international law to be signed by several signatory nations will restore them and aim to have them reintroduced to revised education curricula in all English speaking countries by 2112.
